UNA
Hey there Diana,
Una is doing very well. She really is a great fit for us. Our budget hasn't allowed for professional training yet but we've been doing quite a bit on our own with good results. She's gotten better with Naomi too. :)
Naomi is always wants to feed Una so that has become her job. Both Chloe and Naomi love to take her for walks. I've even gotten Chloe to pick up her poo which is a feet in itself! Una also helps me keep my house cleaner. It's funny how it was often a struggle trying to get them to keep things picked up in the living room. Then Una came along and they got into a cleaning routine pretty quickly. ;) My Ex likes to take her Thursday evenings and bring her back Friday evening sometimes. He's trying to steal her from us. Naomi won't have any of it from him though. She makes sure to let him know Una is "her doggie".
Our biggest issue that remains is training our guest so they don't undo our hard work trying to train her. Everybody always says it's fine when she jumps and that's what dog's do. I just try to tell them as nicely as I can that besides my munchkins, I often have other little ones around so it's really important for us to train her not to. Unless we're playing with her of course. She can dance and she can jump really high when your playing with her. She's pretty amazing. Plus she's like the most adorable dog ever. Everybody say so.
It's funny that she doesn't even bark at us when we are walking up to the door but she's a great guard dog if anybody else is anywhere near the house. A lady just yesterday commented completely unsolicited, that she could tell the dog had really bonded with us. That made me pretty happy to hear. We know Una brings us joy and for the lady to say that, made me feel like Una's happy with us too. :)
Hope all is well with you. Sincerely,
Nicole
HERMIONE
Hi Diana - Marley aka Hermione is doing great! She is quite the cuddle bug. She sleeps on the foot of the
bed every night. She is also a great watchdog barking at strangers and keeping
the house safe.
Fernando
Hi Diana,
Here are some pictures of Boomer. He's doing really well. We've been bringing him to a dog park, he does really well with other dogs and loves the people. He's also getting used to playing in the water. We got him a little pool for him to play and keep cool, he enjoys it :o)
Hope you like the pictures

SATCHMO
Diana,
How are you? Satcho is doing great. We had our last session with the trainer and he has come a long way. He now knows sit, stay, and come. He can also walk up a ramp into the back of my car and he is now comfortable with the hose and getting baths. We go for a walk every day and he does not pull on the leash at all. Physically, he has filled-out a little bit and looks sturdier.
The attached picture (if i did this right) is the only one I currently have downloaded on this computer. He was apparently nosing around in the trash can and the lid came off around his neck. He came in with that look of "can someone help me here?".
He likes to lay in the sun out in the backyard and chew a rawhide. We also likes to feed the horses with me, but that may just be because he usually gets fed afterward. He's never had an accident in doors and he appears to be getting over the soft stool problem. He's surprisingly athletic and still has a lot of "puppy" in him.
We'll be away for the Holidays, but I will try to send more pictures when we get back. Considering what he went through, he really has exceeded expectations. With the way he has progressed, if we keep enforcing the training he will be an ideal dog. We are fortunate to have him.
Happy Holidays,
Darrin
